Internships

Computer science majors often want to see firsthand how the material they’re studying will translate to a rewarding career. Internships are excellent vehicles for doing just that. Once students have secured internships through Career Services, they can apply to earn academic credit by taking CMSC 388. Students should read the internship guidelines before beginning the search process, as some regulations may impact the type of positions that can be accepted. For instance, internships cannot be paid if academic credit is also being given. After students have secured a suitable position, they can apply to receive appropriate academic credit for the experience by completing the internship application.
