Scholarships & Awards

The following scholarships and awards are given annually to students majoring in computer science. Recipients are honored at the annual department awards reception.

Mary Church Kent and Joseph F. Kent Computer Science Award

Established in 1990 by Mary Church Kent and Joseph F. Kent, this award is a cash prize presented to an outstanding computer science major at graduation. The recipient is chosen by the faculty of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

B. Lewis Barnett, III Outstanding Service Award

For Outstanding Service in the Department of Computer Science. Awarded annually to the student demonstrating exceptional service to the department and broader academic community, as determined by the department faculty.

Outstanding Academics in Computer Science

Awarded annually to the student exhibiting outstanding academic achievement in their computer science course work, as determined by the department faculty.

Outstanding Research in Computer Science

Awarded annually to the student excelling in computer science focused undergraduate research or scholarship, as determined by the department faculty.
